The power and energy generation trend towards renewables has led to a stronger emphasis on modern technologies like hydroelectric, solar, biomass, geothermal, and wind. Reliable, cost-effective power requires long-term investments into these technologies. And while the adoption of these technologies continues to reshape the global energy market, the need to preserve these assets is more important than ever before.

Since 1968, Duromar has been an industry leader in the long-term protection and preservation of these technologies and their equipment assets.

Our high performance linings, repair and maintenance coatings, flooring systems and composites are uniquely designed to protect renewable power technology.

Wind

Modern wind energy turbines harness the power of wind to create electrical energy. And while wind-based power generation continues to grow, the economic viability of the technology depends on long-term investment and reliable output. Wind turbines have become larger and more technologically advanced in an effort to increase output and efficiency.

Downtime and loss of revenue is critical, therefore the need to protect wind energy assets, infrastructure, and equipment is as important as ever.

Duromar is an industry leader in protective polymeric coatings for the wind energy market.

Duromar Products for the Wind Energy Industry

Duromar offers an entire line of coatings designed specifically for the unique demands of the wind energy industry. Our products offer Leading Edge Protection (LEP) from rain and grit erosion, resistance to ice formation (icephobia), long-term corrosion protection of towers and metallic structures, and blade topcoats that are resistant to harsh off-shore (marine) and on-shore environments .

Our products are isocyanate and solvent free, therefore we’re safe for the user and non-toxic to the environment. Our offshore wind energy systems are designed to NORSOK M-501 standards.

Duromar's Wind products are 100% made in the USA, easiest to apply, most surface/environmental condition tolerant, cost-effective, and offer a fast return to service/reduced down-time.

Solar

Regardless of your solar power design, the efficiency of your technology depends on reliable operation. This means corrosion and erosion can have a major impact on performance. Metallic structures like frames and mounts as well as piping used to transport molten salts and heat transfer fluids are subject to corrosion. Dirty glass panels and parabolic troughs can lead to significant efficiency losses as well.

Long-term protection of these assets to ensure reliable operation is critical. Our products are designed to be durable, easy to apply, and offer long-term solutions.

Hydroelectric/Pumped Storage

Like many other technologies, Hydroelectric and Pumped Storage facilities rely on long-term asset preservation. Protection from erosion and corrosion is absolutely necessary in these environments, as they are subjected to sediment loading, impact, cavitation, and flow-assisted corrosion.

Duromar has proven solutions that are designed for decades of performance and are best-in-class products while remaining safe for the user and non-toxic to the environment.

Duromar Products for the Hydroelectric/Pumped Storage Industry

Duromar's products reduce and in some cases eliminate corrosion and erosion on penstock and pumped storage piping and cavitation, erosion, impact, and corrosion on wetted parts.

Duromar® HPL-2510™ and its high-build counterpart Duromar® HPL-2510HB™ are the flagship coatings used in hydroelectric and pumped Storage penstock and pumping lines. With nearly 10,000,000 square feet of coated surface area globally...these coatings just perform!

Duromar offers products specifically designed for direct impact, cavitation, and extreme sediment loading. From brushable fluid ceramics like the EAC-series, and DuroFlex AR to heavy duty products like SARand HARCarbide Ceramic pastes. These products are designed for long-term protection and are safe and easy to use.

Battery Storage

The storage of produced electrical power from intermittent sources like solar and wind allows for a more consistent supply. As large growth in these renewable energy generation types continues, so will the need to store the power for later use.

In any large scale battery operation, the electrolyte needs to be protected against to prevent chemical corrosion. Regardless of the battery type, or the electrolyte, Duromar has a protective coating to prevent against chemical attack.

Duromar Products for the Battery Storage Industry
